Blackadder

 

Blackadder features the brilliant Rowan Atkinson play Edmund Blackadder in a variety of historic contexts depending on the series.

The first series, The Black Adder, was very nearly the last. It had a huge budget and the BBC did not believe that the ratings justified the expense.

For the second series, Blackadder II the costs were cut considerably and Ben Elton was brought in to accompany Richard Curtis in the writing.
