BBC Three sitcom Gavin and Stacey has been nominated for seven prizes at the British Comedy Awards- which will be broadcast on December 5, 2007.

Also from the sitcom world, in the comedy actress category, Liz Smith has been nominated for her role in Royle Family special The Queen of Sheba.

Elsewhere there are reports that Fox is developing a comedy based on the UK series Spaced, which was transmitted on Channel 4 and starred and was written by Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes (formerly Jessica Stevenson).
